How My Calendar protects your sensitive data

Progress has pushed the limits of what we thought is possible for all things data. Businesses run smoother, transfers are lightning-fast, and any posts and messages arrive so quick they are virtually everywhere at the same time.

This freedom comes at a cost.

The speed at which information becomes more available and more accessible poses real data safety risks. Being aware of these risks, My Calendar team has committed itself to protect our users' sensitive data empowering them to keep it private and safe. Everything you enter into our app stays there. Our goal is to provide a service that helps our users live healthier and happier life. Our business model is built around this goal. We offer a Premium subscription with additional features and publish ads. The earnings from your subscriptions and ads help us leverage the continued development of the app for the benefit of all our users. We do not and will never sell your data as it is against our beliefs and mission.

Data we save for you

Regarding data, the backup is the largest and most substantial piece of information that My Calendar stores in the cloud. It contains all the cycles, moods, symptoms, and other information you've tracked along with your app settings. That's why we go the extra mile to keep this data secure and protected. Your sensitive health data is never shared with anyone. Even within our team, only a few people have restricted access to the user data. These people maintain the system and assist users in restoring or deleting their data.

At My Calendar, we take utmost care to ensure users have reliable and safe access to their information. The data is stored on Google Cloud, the account credentials are encrypted and so is access to them. We keep up with the most recent information protection practices and take all possible precautions to prevent any unauthorized access.

If you ever decide that you don't want to store your data in the cloud anymore, you can always request to have your data deleted.

At the same time, we understand that sometimes users might not want to share their personal data with anyone. So, My Calendar can be used without setting up a backup and all the data you track will be saved on your device only.

Other data we may collect

When you use My Calendar or any other application, another type of data is generated. It includes ratings and reviews on Google Play and AppStore, your feedback, and information on how you use the app features. This information is very helpful as we can discover users' challenges and improve the app to address them. Thanks to usage data, we understand which features are needed and popular, and which might be complicated or hard to find. To collect and analyze this data, we use carefully vetted service providers like Google analytics.

Usage data is collected in such a way that it cannot be traced back to the user. We do not share any data with advertisers either. Ads that users see in the app might be based on their digital trail such as their search browser history and social media activity. But advertisers never get any user information from My Calendar.

Legal data access requests

The company behind My Calendar is located in the United States and is subject to US law.

That being said, we assure you that if we ever get a request to provide user data, we will review it with the utmost care to check if the appeals comply with all applicable legislation. We would verify whether the requested data is applicable to the case and reserve the right to deny access to the data if the request is unjustified or groundless. Finally, if too much information is requested, we would narrow the request down, or refuse to provide any information at all.

Closing tips

  • Along with online data safety and security measures for it, data access might be violated by more common causes - the device you are using My Calendar on could break or be stolen.

  • While backup might not be suitable for everyone, we still recommend it to protect your data from loss when the device might be broken or stolen and to transfer your data to another device.

  • You can also PIN-protect My Calendar as an additional safety measure.

  • If for any reason you want to stop backing up your app data, send us a request through the feedback form and we will delete all your saved data from the cloud, so everything you've tracked will remain on your device only and nowhere else.
